![]() ![]() ![]() My DI box, while it sounds great, it's stupidly designed so the cab sim goes to the XLR and unbalanced outs! I've tested it and I can actually deal with it coming through the Cube but, wellīasically, the effects loop on the Katana and a wicked cab sim on the line out that was purportedly added in this recent firmware upgrade would be enough to have me ditch the Cube. However, the C60 has a crap cab sim on its line out. I've gone into my local music shop and played the Katana 100W 112 combo. Stage-class 50-watt combo amp with GA-FC/GA-FC EX Foot Controller support, Stereo Expand, and line output with cabinet emulation Tube Logic design approach. Lots of people say it's like a next generation Cube but I really think most of the people saying that never played the C60, which is miles ahead of the 80x and latter. From there I either XLR into my PC or play it into my COSM Roland Cube 60 (use the JC120 setting). The whole point of the 100 combo purchase was to allow me to stop agonizing over the finer details. If Boss get this sorted, it would be the perfect hobbyist studio recording amp. I like the DI, it has a great sounding cab simulation. I had the 100 combo and returned it as the line out cab sim just sounded flat and lifeless to my ears. I play it into a mid-aughts Catalinbread SCP (really makes the thing feel like a tube amp) and that into a Monoprice DI. If you're like the people that had a Line 6 Spider, we were jealous of you. You can use this in conjunction with an external PA system, or to record your performance via direct line while monitoring the sound from the KATANA’s speaker. You can obtain powerful guitar amp sound just as if you were playing through the speaker. It has no effect when using the built-in speakers and when you change it, it is applied for all. If you're like us, you were jealous of everyone who had a Line 6 Spider. 16 LINE OUT jack 100/HEAD/Artist only Connect this to your PA system or recorder. Rec means recording directly in front of speakers while live simulates being far away. I love it for its no nonsense layout and I've tweaked it enough to get great sounds. The line out air feel simulates how far you are away from the speakers while recording or using headphones. ![]()
